Video Shows NYPD Officer Punch Woman in the Face During Arrest

Shocking video coming out of New York City shows an NYPD officer punch a woman in the face during an arrest. The video was taken a few weeks ago in the Manhattan section of Harlem but just began circulating social media this week.

According to law enforcement, officers at the scene were attempting to arrest a man suspected of attempted murder. As the scene became chaotic during the arrest, police began pushing the crowd back with some residents retaliating by pushing back.

The woman in the video seems to push one of the officers back before he punches her square in the face causing her to drop to the ground.

Despite what seems like an overreaction on the part of the officer, the NYPD appears to be painting this incident as nothing more than self-defense.

“While police were effecting the arrest, multiple individuals on scene interfered by physically assaulting numerous officers. One officer sustained a minor injury to the head.”
