The NBA announced a five-game suspension for Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green on Wednesday. The suspension stems from Green’s actions during an on-court altercation where he forcefully grabbed Minnesota Timberwolves center Rudy Gobert around the neck in what is described as an unsportsmanlike and dangerous manner.
Green’s suspension is influenced by his history of unsportsmanlike conduct.
Additionally, Klay Thompson, Jaden McDaniels, and Rudy Gobert will each be fined $25,000 for their roles in the altercation but won’t face suspension. The timing is unfavorable for the Warriors, who are already without Stephen Curry, having lost five of their last six games.
Green, known for his ejections, will miss games against the Thunder (twice), Rockets, Suns, & Spurs.
