It is not rehabilitative. The jail and prison system is a punishment in an authoritarian society made to oppress,” said the woman.

She continued, “I didn’t advocate for jail because of the lack of resources, the lack of rehabilitation, the lack of education for mental health, and the psychological effect it may have on our son, having already developed a relationship with his father.” While speaking about the situation more, Evans talked about the impact on their son, saying, “So please give me some grace in understanding that I’m not being easy on Zac, rather, I am trying to protect our son from any more trauma.”

Evans concluded by noting Stacy may have a mental illness related to football, saying, “Nothing is black and white, and not every abuser is the same. People who are willing to put in work to be better deserve an opportunity to show that they can be better. Especially with a diagnosable mental illness and significant head trauma caused by Football.”

According to reports, former NFL running back Zac Stacy was handed down his sentence on Monday in an Orange County, FL court where he received six months in jail and one year of probation over two separate attacks on his ex-girlfriend.

The ex-NFLer pleaded guilty to two counts of criminal mischief and one count of misdemeanor domestic violence battery as part of his plea agreement.

Stacy’s ex-girlfriend and the mother of his child Kristin Evans told TMZ that he “physically assaulted me several times because he wanted the money back he gave me for our rent.” She also noted, “He punched my legs, slapped me, picked me up by my arms, and threw me into my window, which broke. I had glass in my feet that I removed myself.”

Three months later, Stacy attacked Evans again which ended up being caught on video and eventually went viral leading to his subsequent arrest and conviction.
